This is Jon Elliff with the Highland park one minute message. Recently my Sunday School Class studied the book of Jonah. Jonah, the prophet who tried to run from God, was a representation of all that was wrong about the shallow, ritualistic worship in Israel. On the surface there was the ritual, the worship attendance, the God-jargon, and the happy admission that they were Yahweh followers. Under the surface, however, were cold, prejudicial, anti-evangelistic hearts. Does this sound familiar? Perhaps the greatest testimony to shallow Christianity is the refusal to make disciples. Unfortunately most who happily call themselves Christians do nothing to make disciples.
