1. New President of the SBC will be Johnny Hunt a pastor in Georgia. Johnny is a good, godly man with a passion for the lost, I have no doubt he will do a great job. Presidents serve 1-year terms, but are permitted to serve up to two consecutive terms - usually that means the prez will serve two years.
2. Resolution on Regenerate Church Membership - it was approved overwhelmingly. News Link here.
3. Nothing surfaced for a vote over the recent IMB policies.
4. Al Gilbert preached the convention sermon this morning after some wonderful worship by Keith and Kristyn Getty. He challenged us to a complete overhaul of the bureaucracy that is the SBC and be better stewards of God's blessing - I couldn't agree more!
