Several of you asked what books were pictured in the last post and what the significance was. There is no significance, other than of the two or three pics I took, that one looked the best. But since you asked - these are the books (most of them sets). Mind you, most of my books have been given to me!
Here they are - numbered - if you want a closer look, check out the pic in the post below.
1. A set, given to me by my father, Makers of the Modern Theological Mind. Brief bios on several influential theologians of the past 100 years.
2. Chief Holland's gift to me - The Works of James Henley Thornwell.
3. Theology of Modern Ethics - an academic set.
4. Contours of Christian Theology - a great recent series written by a group of great scholars.
5. Counterpoints - an incomplete set of books where theologians square off about different subjects (like a views on spiritual gifts).
6. Charts of Christian Theology - the best of the "Charts" series - a great primer on different rivers of theological thought.
Book club guys - we will NOT be reading these anytime soon!
Blessings,
Pastor
